Waitlist: what we store

What you enter in the form: email, what you sell, platforms, approximate volume (if given), programming language, whether you use Stripe and your comment (if any). We also store the site language, the date you gave consent with the version of this policy, the sign-up date, a random code to unsubscribe and whether we've sent you the welcome email. If you signed up before Oct 22, 2026, when we asked you to confirm your email, we also keep an irreversible hash of that link so it keeps working.

We don't store your IP address. To prevent abuse we limit attempts per IP with Cloudflare's rate limiter, which doesn't store it in our database; if we also enable an hourly limit, we keep only an irreversible salted hash of the IP and delete it after 2 days.

Waitlist: sign-up and welcome

When you submit the form with the box checked, you're on the list right away, with nothing to confirm, and we send you a welcome email. If it wasn't you who signed up, that email has a link to unsubscribe, which deletes the data. If the same email is submitted again, we don't duplicate the sign-up, change the data or send anything else; the page always shows the same message, so nobody can find out whether an email is on the list. Every email includes an unsubscribe link you can use at any time.

For every new sign-up, the website sends an internal notice to our inbox (hello@ownlicense.com) with your email and your answers, so we can read them and reply to you. That notice stays in our inbox.

Contact form

If you write to us, we process what you send: the reason, your name, your email, your company (if given) and your message, plus the site language. We use it only to answer you and deal with what you ask.

We don't store your message in this website's database. The website turns it into an email to our inbox (hello@ownlicense.com, or privacy@ownlicense.com for legal and privacy matters) with your address as the reply-to, and keeps nothing. We keep that email as long as we need it to handle your request and any follow-up, and at most 2 years after the last message, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. We don't send you an automatic copy.

Why

Waitlist: to tell you when the private beta and the launch happen, to invite you to the beta if you're a good fit, and to understand, in aggregate, what kinds of products and needs you have. Contact form: to answer your message. No profiling or automated decisions, and we won't send you any other marketing.

Legal basis

Your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by checking the box on each form. You can withdraw it at any time without affecting what was done before.

How long

• Waitlist: until the service launches publicly or until you unsubscribe, whichever comes first. If the project is abandoned, we delete the list.
• Internal sign-up notices in our inbox: while you're on the list; if you unsubscribe, we delete them.
• Contact messages: as long as needed to handle them, at most 2 years after the last message.
• Anti-abuse counters (salted IP hash): 2 days.

Who we share it with

No one, except the providers we need to run this, who process data on our behalf: Cloudflare (website hosting, database and email: Cloudflare Email Service sends our emails, and Email Routing forwards mail sent to our addresses to our inbox) and the provider of that inbox. Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area with the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

If a form shows a Cloudflare Turnstile bot check, Cloudflare processes technical data from your browser for that check.

Your rights

You can request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data, and withdraw consent. The quickest way to delete your waitlist data is the unsubscribe link in every email. For anything else, write to privacy@ownlicense.com. If you think we haven't handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es) or your local authority.

Children

The list is meant for professionals and businesses. Please don't sign up if you're under 14.
